As I write this, I’m on the plane on my way to my fourth season in Japan. I love this time of year because it’s a new beginning to a new season! Its the start of a 9 month season, 6 months in Japan with Team Toyota, 3 months in Florida with USSSA Pride. New beginnings are so refreshing because it’s a chance to try new things, a new system, new goals and find new ways & things to improve on.  As this season gets underway, I’m anxious to get back on the field with my teammates to defend a title w/ Toyota & gain a title with USSSA Pride.  25 years in the game and still loving the idea & challenge of a clean slate.

Along with a new beginning to a new season, I have a new beginning and new partnership to announce. I have just joined the Wilson/Demarini family and excited for this new relationship! All the while, I still get to continue a beautiful relationship with Mizuno for footwear.  This is all around a bonus as I step into a new beginning.  A chance to represent  2 amazing companies is a blessing. So thankful for these to companies to give me the best equipment in the game, all while allowing me to do my thing on the field

So cheers to a NEW BEGINNING!

Konnichiwa!

I must apologize for just now blogging!! From the minute we got here we have been consumed with a lot. From the aftermath of the earthquake to good old softball we have just been so consumed with so much.  With all the latest current events, I feel that the earthquake has been lost in the shuffle, but the good news is that things are pretty much back to normal now.We are quite some ways away from where the center of the eathquake hit, so we never directly saw much damage, but obviosuly heard and saw the images of the damage which was devastating. Fortunalety none of our teammates families or friends were affected.Monica and I were actually in the air when the earthquake hit, so we were safe as well. So all is ok!

AS for softball, we have been off to a great start in league. We are currently 3-0 and have entered our last month here of the 1st half of the season, with some big games ahead of us.  It has been so great back being back with our teammates!! This has started to become a 2nd home for Monica and I. This year we have new apartments that are really cute & convienent, we are near the train and grocery store. With this being our 3rd year here we are definitely more comfortable with getting around and our Japanese is even getting better!

On another note, so glad to hear the great news about Osama. Such a remarkable time in our history that I will never forget. Although it’s hard to swallow celebrating ones death, I do celebrate the brave Navy seals that executed the raid and put their own lives in danger in order to try and ensure Americans safety.
